About This Community

The Women in Science community promotes an inclusive environment for women interested in majoring in science or pursuing a career in the field of science through providing them with various leadership and research opportunities, fostering an environment conducive to success, and exposing them to like-minded individuals within Sims. The Women in Science Community also strives to support women in developing their personal passion within the field of science. Through discussions and interactions with peers and faculty, women will have the opportunity to build confidence in their abilities. Long lasting bonds will be forged with peers who are also interested in the science field, thus constructing and fostering a community amongst diverse individuals in Women’s Quad.

How to Apply

  • Access housing application on my.sc.edu.
  • List the Women in Science Community as the first of your required top 5 Living Learning Community preferences.
  • Submit housing application by paying $150 application fee no later than May 1, 2017.
  • Housing priority is based on your learning community preferences and your date of application to the institution.
